We are currently seeking a highly organized and experienced Paralegal to join our Family Law team in Charlottetown. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our lawyers in delivering efficient and compassionate service to our clients.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare motion records, mediation and conference briefs, and other court documents.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents such as court pleadings, financial statements, separation agreements, and correspondence.
  • Establish and maintain a current calendar of events and a deadline reminder system for assigned lawyer(s).
  • File and manage documents with the courts and other agencies.
  • Record all billable and non-billable functions daily.
  • Other related duties as required.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a legal setting, preferably in family law.
  • A highly motivated self-starter who has the ability to work well both autonomously and in a team environment.
  • A commitment to the highest standards of integrity, client service and collegiality.
  • Attention to detail, proven organizational skills and an effective communicator.

Cox & Palmer provides a competitive compensation and benefits package including:

  • Wage range: $42,000–$62,000, based on experience.
  • Health, dental, life, and disability insurance; Employee Assistance Program; health and fitness allowance.
  • Group Registered Savings Plan (RSP).
