Cox & Palmer Announces Four New Partners
It is with great pleasure that we announce four new partners in the Halifax office of Cox & Palmer: Joseph Herschorn, Andrew Sowerby, Jillian Strugnell and Peter Zed.

Joe maintains a broad litigation practice covering business disputes, medical defence, and construction disputes. He has successfully advocated for clients at all levels of court in Nova Scotia, in the Supreme Court of PEI, and in commercial arbitrations.
Jillian began her litigation law career with a Calgary firm. She then moved back to Halifax to serve as legal counsel to a large telecommunication company before joining Cox & Palmer in 2013. Jillian now practises primarily in the areas of medical defence, insurance defence and employment law.
Andrew has a diverse litigation practice including insurance defence and coverage disputes, medical defence and commercial litigation. Andrew has appeared before all levels of court in Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board. He has also appeared before the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada, successfully appealing Transport Canada’s refusal to issue a seafarer’s marine medical certificate.
Peter’s practice is focused on helping corporate clients, institutions and entrepreneurs with start-up considerations, acquisitions and divestitures, debt and equity financing transactions and other commercial matters.
