Ronald Profit, KC, Receives Distinguished Community Service Award
Congratulations to Ron Profit, QC, partner in our Charlottetown office, who was the recipient of the Law Society of Prince Edward Island’s 2017 Distinguished Community Service Award. This annual award is bestowed upon a member to recognize and celebrate their valuable contributions to community organizations, and to highlight the important services that law society members provide to the community at large.
Ron has held leadership roles in many charitable and non-profit organizations throughout his legal career, including his current positions of Director for the Alzheimer’s Society of PEI and District Governor of the Charlottetown Y’s Men, and his former positions of President of the Charlottetown Rotary and National Director of the Canadian Rehabilitation Council.
The Distinguished Community Service Award was established in 2007 by Derek D. Key, Q.C. and Nancy L. Key, Q.C., and follows a nomination procedure and selection process administered by a committee appointed annually by the Law Society of Prince Edward Island. Recipients are honoured at the Annual Presidents’ Dinner, and a donation of $2,500 is made by Mr. & Madam Justice Key to the recipient’s charity of choice.
