Congratulations to Heimdall Networks, the provincial winner of Innovacorp’s I-3 Technology Start-Up Competition.

Innovacorp’s I-3 competition finds and supports early stage Nova Scotia knowledge-based companies and encourages entrepreneurial activity across the province. Cox & Palmer is a proud partner of this competition and would like to congratulate the 2013-2014 winners.

Heimdall Networks, the provincial winner, originates from Zone 5, which encompasses the 4 counties of Cape Breton Island. Its founder, Jim DeLeskie of Sydney is developing technology that protects companies and governments against Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks to their networks and websites. DDoS attacks flood an organization’s network or website with unwanted traffic, making online functions unavailable to its intended users. Heimdall Networks’ solution identifies legitimate and illicit traffic, filtering out the bad traffic while letting the good traffic through.

Patrick Fitzgerald, chair of Cox & Palmer’s Halifax Technology & Life Sciences group and its Ignite initiative for high growth innovation companies, congratulates all winners and encourages entrepreneurs to continue to grow and develop in our region. “This competition is an impressive showcase of the innovation, diversity, talent and dedication of Nova Scotian technology entrepreneurs. Our team looks forward to the continued innovation and growth of these companies and Cox & Palmer is eager to assist in helping them achieve success.”
