The Honourable Clyde K. Wells Joins St. John’s Office as Counsel
ST. JOHN’S (February 19, 2013) – Cox & Palmer, a preeminent full-service law firm in the Atlantic region, today announced that the Honourable Clyde K. Wells QC, former premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, has joined their St. John’s office as counsel.

Clyde has had an extensive legal and political career. A graduate of Dalhousie Law School, Clyde built a thriving legal practice before serving as the fifth Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador from 1989-1996. Upon his departure from politics, Clyde joined one of Cox & Palmer’s predecessor firms, where he practiced for two and a half years before being appointed as a justice of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador (Court of Appeal). He was appointed Chief Justice of the province in 1999, holding the position for 10 years until choosing to step down. Clyde remained as a supernumerary justice of the appellate court until his full retirement from the bench in November 2012.
