Newcomer Jump Start to Business
Pamela Williams, Partner and Ruth Zhang from Cox & Palmer in Charlottetown recently joined with other local businesses in presenting to nearly 200 attendees at an information session specifically for newcomers to the Island.
Hosted by Octavian Group, the event targeted attendees from Asia, primarily China and the Middle East, primarily Iran. The Cox & Palmer presentation focused on the necessity and value of engaging the legal profession for advice and assistance.
According to the Prince Edward Island Statistics Bureau, the province’s population growth in recent years can be attributed to record gains in international migration. Prince Edward Island posted the highest immigration rate in the country in 2010.
